Why Do I Need To Think About Attachment When Manifesting?
Welcome back to our ignition blog Q & A
This week, our question comes from Terry who asked it on Quora.com.
She asked: "What is attachment in the manifestation theory?"
What we're talking about here, Terry, is being attached to your manifestation. There are two main ways that we could be connected to it. The first is that we could be attached to the outcome. Or we could be attached to the idea of how we think our desire should come to us. The attachment to either of these could seriously deter our efforts mainly because it will slow things down. Putting conditions on universal forces means that they have to work that much harder to meet those conditions. And we may not even have the faith it takes to be super attractive to those requirements.
What's important to you about the outcome?
Let's talk about the outcome first. When we want to attract something into our lives, it's crucial to remember that what we want should be something that adds value for us in some way. Now, that doesn't mean that just because we want a pair of pink bunny slippers or something that we could think of as being silly, we can't value it. So one of the things people sometimes get hung up on is the idea that whatever item they choose, it's not enough to want that. It's the same for anything we believe would be too much for us to want. It doesn't matter if it's a brand-spanking-new, cherry red sports car you want or those bunny slippers, know that it's okay that you want it. If it's going to make you feel good to have it, then it has value for you. The Law Of Attraction isn't worrying about that. It doesn't think that anything is too much or too little for you to have. It just knows you want it.
Having said that, though, we don't always know for sure what else is going to come along with the manifestation that could hinder us differently. How you react to things depends on who you are and what your personal beliefs are. Just ask any lottery winner who's won a lot of money and instantly discovers a large number of long-lost relatives they didn't know they had. Maybe they pick up some other money-related problem that they wouldn't have otherwise.
So when it comes to the outcome, there's a great way to avoid being attached to it. This method, by the way, does come in handy when we're not sure if what we're asking for is what we want. To escape something that could bring unforeseen consequences with it, always ask for what you want but be open to receiving something better for you than what you've requested. That means when you make your request, you say, that you'd like _______ or something better. Easy enough, right?
Make room for the way to be shown.
Now let's move on to being attached to the way we get the goods. That's not so good. Our view of everything is very minimal. That's because we're moving around in these physical bodies. We're using our minds to judge things and to help us create our beliefs. What we don't know is what the universal view is. What I know to be true from my own experience with the LOA is this. There are possibly millions of ways to get what you want. You are not ever going to know all of them. However, lucky for you, the LOA knows the quickest and easiest way to get to your request into your hands. That's it's the job of the LOA. Don't get in the way of that because it will only keep you from having it for longer.
What this means is that when you make that request, you're also going to be open to how it comes to you. So, you're going to say that you're okay with what you're getting coming in the fastest, most enjoyable way possible.
I hope that makes things clear for you, Terry. Thanks again for the question.
