Grounding's an ancient practice that's been used for thousands of years in various cultures around the world. It involves connecting with the earth's energy and drawing strength and vitality from it. This practice has numerous benefits for physical and mental health, and the real beauty of it is that it's easy to incorporate into your daily routine.


One of the main benefits of grounding is its ability to reduce stress and anxiety. Connecting with your energy and environment can help you feel more centered and calm when you feel overwhelmed or anxious. Grounding can also improve your sleep, boost your immune system, and increase your energy levels.


As a manifesting enthusiast, grounding is essential! But if you need some clarification on what it is or how to do it, I can help.




WHY IS GROUNDING A GOOD THING?


Because we're physical beings living on this planet, we're often running around, trying to get stuff done so we can maintain or improve our lifestyle. This dizzying array of thoughts, tasks, and emotions, as well as the physical effort required to do so, can take a lot out of us. That sometimes means there's not a lot left over for us to give to things like our spiritual and personal development or even to have some much-needed fun.


Grounding is based on the idea that our bodies and minds are naturally wired to connect with the Earth. And knowing you can ground yourself at any point of the day can be a perfect way to help with your clarity, mental focus, self-awareness, and many other things.


As such, there are 3 main ways to ground yourself. You'll find most exercises are based in either;


  1. Physical practices: These can include walking barefoot on the grass or sand, hugging a tree, or immersing yourself in nature through hiking, camping, or gardening.
  2. Mindfulness practices: These can include deep breathing, meditation, yoga, and tai chi, which can help calm the mind and reduce stress.
  3. Sensory practices: These can include engaging your senses, such as smelling essential oils, listening to soothing music, or using tactile objects like worry stones.



To help you get a jump start on a grounding practice, if you don't have one yet or you want to add some variety to what you've been doing, I've created a simple but practical guide. In it, you'll find information on ways to start using your senses to help take you from a place of confusion or overpowering emotion and get you rooted in the sense of more ease or calm. And believe me trying to attract better, more positive things before you're properly grounded in the present moment can lead to feelings of disconnection, anxiety, and even more stress!!!

🌿 Here's how it works:


✨ Pause: Take a moment to pause and take a deep breath.


👀 Acknowledge: Look around and acknowledge 5 things you can see. This could be anything from the color of the walls to the texture of a piece of furniture.


👂🏼Listen: Listen for 4 things you can hear. This could be the sound of a bird chirping, the hum of a fan, or the distant sound of traffic.


👃🏼Smell: Take a deep breath and notice 3 things you can smell. This could be the scent of fresh flowers, your favorite candle, or the aroma of your morning coffee.


👅 Taste: Notice 2 things you can taste. This could be the taste of your morning breakfast or the lingering flavor of gum or a mint.


🖐️ Touch: Lastly, touch something and notice 1 thing you can feel. This could be the texture of a piece of fabric, the sensation of the sun on your skin, or the weight of an object in your hand.


🌟 Practicing the 5 senses grounding technique is a great way to center yourself and reduce anxiety, whether you're dealing with stress at work or just feeling a little frazzled at home. It's simple, easy to do, and can help you feel more calm and present in the moment.
