Magnetic Me Podcast Show Notes

What Has A Fresh, New Name But Is Just As Magnetic?

The Magnetic Me Manifesting Podcast - Episode 82

IN FIVE YEARS, I NEVER DID AN INTRO OF MYSELF?

My Discovery 0:00

With the handful of episodes I've done over the last five years, I'm not surprised. You've probably never heard of me. I listened to what's labeled as my first episode the other day. What you should know is that it actually wasn't my first episode. I'd done 11 others prior to that in the year before, but my perfectionism got the best of me, and I started over again. However, the previous 11 episodes were eventually reworked and are now part of other free content that I still have today.

So, when I was listening to what's now labeled as my first one, I noticed I told you what was probably the teeniest, tiniest, smallest amount about myself that I could get away with. And as receptive as I am to listening to other people, opening up about me still isn't the easiest thing for me to do. Looking back, I was probably a bit rude because I really didn't do a good job of letting you know who I am and why I'm doing the podcast in the first place.

Maybe I thought my life wasn't very exciting. Fair warning: It isn't. There aren't any swanky parties with celebrities and photos of me laughing it up as the receipts. No best-selling books, no videos about how I lavishly spend big bucks on expensive things. I've spent my time building my knowledge, my small business, and my family outside my home office. But what I do find exciting about my life is that I very much live a law of attraction lifestyle. I manifest every single day. I set up my day with it. I use it to solve everyday problems like attracting money and solutions. Basically, everything. I use it to find clients and point me toward what's best for me in every area of my life. So, if you're interested in knowing how I got started doing all of this without even knowing I was doing it, then this is the episode where I'm going to tell you a little bit about that, and I'm also going to explain why this podcast has a fresh, slightly different new name.

Welcome!

Episode 82 4:44

Hello and welcome to the Magnetic Me Manifesting podcast by Illuminated New Lifestyle Coaching. This is episode number 82. Now, you've arrived at the perfect moment because this is the debut episode of our podcast under its fresh new name. But before we dive into that, let me introduce myself. Like I said, I'm Marcie, and if my name doesn't ring a bell, it's totally okay because today, I'm going to share with you what led me to start coaching people, specifically on manifesting and how that led me to do a podcast. I'm also going to explain why I've changed the name of the podcast and what my intentions are for it going forward.

A Bumpy Road 5:29

So I've been a manifesting enthusiast since way, way back in 2004. That means it's been almost it's actually very close to 20 years now. And in some ways, I can barely believe that. But at that time in 2004, my life wasn't exactly a thrilling adventure. I'd always sensed that there was so much in the world that I wanted to do things I wanted to see. I was dying to know what some of them were and how to get to them. But I'd also bought into the illusion that working harder was going to be the key to unlocking the life I wanted. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that there isn't any work involved in achieving your dreams because that's often not the case. But the method I was using wasn't cutting it. And the more I worked, the more I felt stuck and unsatisfied.

At the time, I was divorced. And that's a story in itself. So, I'm going to leave it there for now. But I lived in a tiny house with my two furry companions. I had two little dogs. And when I say the house was tiny, I'm not even kidding. I can assure you it lacked all of the glamour that you think about when you think of a tiny house on wheels these days. It was probably about 100 years old, and it needed some serious repair. I was renting the house & I also played around with the idea of buying it and restoring it, but I didn't, mostly because I met my current husband before that happened. But I was working in jobs that did not at all align with my long-term aspirations. I'd left one job that I loved in so, so many ways, but there was really no place for me to advance there. And I felt that if I didn't leave to pursue something different, I was going to be stuck there forever. So what did I do? Well, of course, I jumped into something totally different. And while I learned a lot there, the work was draining. And again, it left me feeling like I was stuck.

Even working overtime and starting a side hustle wasn't getting me anywhere, especially financially. And by the way, none of these jobs were ones that I'd have purposely chosen to be in, especially in the long term. I wanted something totally different that I'd never done before, and there was this feeling I had deep down that there was something else that I was supposed to be doing, but I was darned if I knew what that was. So I started to look for answers and I threw out this totally unplanned, not thought-out at all request to the universe not really taking it too seriously.

It went something like this...

"Please, please, please help me find what I should be doing with my life. Something that allows me to pay my bills, get ahead, and have some extra money in the bank. Oh, and if you could, I'd like to know the answer to that sooner rather than later. Thanks."

So that wasn't my most creative work for sure. And it wasn't addressed to anybody in particular, but I was really tired of where I was in life. And at that moment, I just didn't have the energy to do something more spectacular. Of course, I believed in a God, a creator of the universe and of everything in it that had been schooled into me since I'd been born. And it was handily repeated each Sunday at church. Now, don't get me wrong, I do still believe in God, but my understanding of my relationship with my creator has evolved over time and with each experience that I've had. I think that's probably the case for most of us who believe in God or something greater than we are.

But you might be surprised to hear that my half-hearted plea did yield results because, within a month, I found myself on a path that made me start to wonder about a lot of things. Now, I mentioned I'd started a side hustle, so I should tell you I had a mentor in that side hustle who'd gotten me involved in personal development. Quite frankly, I was obsessed. I was reading books like Think & Grow Rich, The Power of Now, How to Win Friends, and Influence People, all of the classics. Now, with every book I read, I became more and more hooked. And as I read and I absorbed the ideas in them, my thought horizons were certainly expanding. Now, I'm not somebody who just believes anything somebody tells me, but I certainly thought about things. I tested what I could, and I started making up my mind about what ideas I wanted to take on board. And because of the Internet, I found myself signed up for what I'm sure my mother would describe as some very questionable email list. Now, one particular author of an email list started paving a gentle but increasingly mysterious path to something that I'd never heard of specifically, but somehow, I'd always known it inside.

And I clearly remember the day that I received the email that got my full attention. It briefly described the concept of the Law Of Attraction. And as the words were jumping off the screen and dancing before my eyes, I felt an electric jolt go through me. It was like I remembered something very important, something I'd known had been missing from my life until now. And I knew immediately that this was what I'd been looking for. Now, in the email, there were some very general directions. I totally ignored the pitch from the author to buy his book, which could probably have shortened the time it took for me to understand and to operate, said Law. But what's important here is that I got to work immediately, and friend, my learning curve was sooo huge! Sometimes, I swear it felt like I was climbing a mountain with roller skates on my feet. It wasn't just one step forward, two steps back. For me, it felt like I'd climb up a few feet, and then I'd fall off the mountain and have to start all over again.

But being the nerd I am did come in handy because I started to write things down.

(I should have mentioned I also wrote down my mindset & what I was thinking so I could shift perspective to move myself into better feelings.)

  • I documented every intention.
  • What I did
  • When I did it
  • How I felt,
  • How I did it
  • What happened
  • When it happened
  • How it happened
  • How I felt

And I started seeing some patterns emerging. And, of course, these patterns were my patterns. And I didn't always like what I was seeing because I learned by paying attention that I was the person who had gotten me where I was. Now, please, please understand that I am not in any way into victim shaming. But I didn't like what I saw because I'd created my own victim scenario in my mind, and I was the star. I was the victim. So when I looked at who I had been, who I was right then, and who the person I wanted to be in the future was, I knew that I was nowhere near who I wanted to be. I'd learned enough by that point that I had to change how I thought about myself and the way I saw the world to become who I wanted to be. And that's why working harder hadn't been my most successful strategy. I was actually keeping myself in a state that ensured that I'd have to work harder.

So since there wasn't much about universal laws and how to work with them on the Internet at the time, I mean, YouTube didn't even exist yet... I turned back to my love and belief in books and found my favorites within those favorites. And I started finding some answers. Now, my mom wouldn't approve of my reading list, but that's okay because I found the reality that I'd been taught could coexist with what I was learning. Since then, what has happened in my life is a gradual and continuous moving forward into and through something new. And it's often better than the last thing, mostly, anyway.

For instance, one of the first big things... big in my mind... that I manifested was a specific job. It was a job that made me twice as much money as I'd been making before. I mean, of course, it did because that was my intention. Obviously, I was thrilled when I was offered the job and thought I would be there for a long, long time. But it turns out I couldn't remain there because of a medical issue that arose. It made it excruciating for me to go to work every day and be there and do that job. Now, I realized, as I was dealing with this medical thing, that I'd manifested something that wasn't for me, mostly because when I chose to manifest that job, I was only thinking about how much I'd get paid. That was difficult for me to accept, but it was also a really big aha moment. The best thing was ultimately, I was okay, but that experience also pushed me toward something that was right for me. As I continued to grow and learn from each manifestation I had, I got the attention of people around me. And that's when something quite interesting happened.

New Starts 14:52

I got my start as a coach again, not realizing that's what I was doing when I started helping other people learn how to manifest. That was in 2007. I'm told I'm pretty good at it. What I mean by that is that I've got lots and lots and lots of people who've coached with me and have been pleased with me by all their reports and testimonials. But most importantly, they are thrilled with their own incredible results.

So, as Bob Ross would say, that was a "happy little accident." I don't really believe in accidents, but I'm very glad and very grateful for that. What I can say is that everything I'd ever experienced to that point in my life, all of the long hours, all of the training, all of the skills I'd learned from different jobs and places over the years culminated in the realization, with the help of a friend who said,

"Duh, Marcie, you're already doing what you're supposed to be doing."

That all made me realize that the coaching and mentoring gig is my calling. So I went on to get coaching certifications, and ever since, I've been coaching and mentoring those who want to co-create with our fabulous universe; this podcast has been part of that.

So what I'm saying is that the new, slightly different, and improved name for the show has evolved from The Magnetic Me; You + Law Of Attraction Podcast. Since 2018, I've been giving you basics on using the Law of Attraction to manifest the life that you want. It has been a labor of love, and it's a fantastic project, even if it's been somewhat sporadic, being that I've had to work it into my schedule here and there. But things have changed, and now I want to breathe some new life into the podcast so it encompasses a lot more for you.

Through audience feedback, I can see how much some of you have grown over the time we've spent together and how you're shifting focus, and that's so amazing because this podcast has always been about changing perspectives and coming to a new awareness. That means that we're moving into a new phase and taking on new ideas about ourselves and what manifesting means to us.

Intentions 17:10

So, with that, here's what's on the horizon for us with the podcast. Now, I believe that the power to shape your reality lies within you. My mission is to empower you with the knowledge, tools, and inspiration, even the community, that you need to harness this incredible power and manifest the life you want. So here's what I intend for our podcast in the future:

  1. The first is to have inspiring conversations, and I'd love to hear from you and interview you on the show if possible. If not, then I'd love to share your story here. There are many ways that we can do that, but I'd like you to be part of this podcast because I think anybody interested in manifesting would love to hear from other people about overcoming challenges, the successes that they've had, and the unique unfolding of their manifestations. It can be very, very inspiring, and you could create a ripple effect.
  2. The next thing is to continue to provide you with practical guidance in the form of actionable tips, techniques, and step-by-step guides to help you tap into your manifesting potential. So whether you're new to manifesting or a seasoned pro, the content I put here is designed to be accessible and applicable.
  3. Also resources. My blog is a great resource. You're always able to find the show notes from each episode there, but also things to download and other things that I recommend to deepen your understanding of manifesting, as well as the importance of consciousness and mindfulness and personal development and transforming your energy.
  4. And, of course, community. I invite you to become part of my manifesting community. I love bringing together like-minded people who share a passion for manifesting and, of course, those other closely related subjects. So, from my community, you can connect with me and other people. You can share your journey, learn from each other's experiences, and take some inspired action toward your manifestations. I'm going to tell you in just a minute how to join that manifesting portal.

My Promise 19:25

Here's my promise to you...

Diversity. I also feel this podcast should encompass a wide range of perspectives, topics, and experiences, ensuring that everyone listening with a genuine interest in growth from said topics can find inspiration and guidance that resonates with them.
